A FEW LOOKS AND A FEW ITEMS IN MY SHOPPING CARTS

Hello, ladies! I know it’s been a minute since I’ve written a blog post. I have been running around doing things for my mom because she is still not able to bend her knees, and working on a new business (I will be able to talk about that soon). Don’t ever slip and break both of your kneecaps; it’s brutal! She has a great attitude, but is really bored. She has 24-hour care, so we came to Montana for a bit. The weather has been hot (not Texas hot) and super smoky (wildfires close by), but hopefully start to cool off next week. I needed a little break to just slow down for a minute.

I wanted to share a few looks and a few things I have in my shopping carts, because September will be here in the blink of an eye! I love shopping for fall pieces. Nothing gets me more excited than fall fashion! Always has and always will. Remember the September Issues and how good they used to be? Sometimes the size of a small phone book! I used to count down the days until they arrived at either the grocery store or our home. I would comb through every single one, getting inspiration for what I wanted to wear.

This first look is super cute and perfect for early fall. I love this lightweight non-stretch poplin dress with a stretch jersey bodice and paperbag waist. It comes in this sage/olive color, but the black/khaki would be great for pre-fall and fall too. I threw a sweater over my shoulders, but a cropped jacket or cardigan would look great too. I can even see wearing a pair of boots (maybe cowboy?) with the dress. I chose these platform sandals. I can’t tell you how much I have worn them this summer.

 

 

This next look is one I love, because I adore these easy drawstring pants (from Aritzia) that have gone viral, because they are so good! I love the chocolate brown and have them in black, navy, and white linen too. These are so easy and perfect for travel, too. I was at Aritzia, grabbed the brown, and saw the same color (and same crepe fabric) funnel-neck jacket to match. Funnel-necks are still going strong, and I will wear this jacket with jeans and probably satin pants as well, and over skirts. I am wearing these pants now with all kinds of tees and tanks, but love them with a button-down too. Come cooler weather, I will wear the pants with sweaters. These are just great pants to have!

 

What have you all done over the weekend? We have been inside most of the weekend because of the smoke. Yesterday there was a health hazard for being outside. I hope it clears out soon, because if it doesn’t, I’m on a flight back to Dallas. We have had a fun time at night having dinner with friends. I have met such amazing people here and know they will be lifelong friends.  I hope you all have a great weekend!
