EARLY FALL BLAZERS

Hello, friends! I just hit the “I’m so over the heat and summer” wall.  Can anyone else relate to that? It has been so hot in Dallas, with barely an end in sight. I think we are getting a cool front that will knock us back into the low 90s for a few days. I  think that sounds glorious compared to 106 (today’s high). I think Dallas has surpassed Austin this year as being the hottest place on the planet! And because of that, I think I need THIS, because it’s hot out and this print is sooo hot now!

It’s hard to talk fall fashion when it is so hot out, but we have to do it! Fashion cannot wait! I want to talk about my favorite early-fall blazers. If you have followed me for a while, you know that I am a blazer-and-jeans kind of girl. A blazer or jacket can instantly elevate a simple pair of jeans and a tee without much thought. We are all so busy, and I am a huge fan of the grab-and-go method (not sure that really is a method, but it should be).

If you are like me, you spend most days in workout or athleisure wear, but when you do need to get “dressed”, throwing on a pair of jeans and a great blazer can take you from “meh” to marvelous in minutes! The first blazer (also available HERE) I am wearing is a showstopper! It has a slim, elongated silhouette with a nipped-in waist. What is extra fun about this blazer is its removable collar and the contrasting blue lining at the cuff. Veronica Beard has started carrying collars that you can switch out. I know this blazer is a little pricier, but I purchased it at a Veronica Beard event benefiting Triple Negative Breast Cancer, and you all know how important that is to me! I am wearing a white tee and slightly flared jeans from Jamie Haller. My daughter’s best friend owns a store in Ojai Valley called Inyun. She turned me on to these, and there is a reason they are always sold out!

The plum-colored blazer below (also available HERE) is also a showstopper, in my opinion. This collarless blazer looks super cool and current, with a slim-fit waist silhouette, a double-breasted design with a front wrap, and a center-back adjuster tab. It reminds me of Mugler Paris designs. I would suggest going up a size. I’m usually a size 0 or 2, and I found the 0 too tight. I’m wearing the same pair of jeans with a leopard sandal.   8. I have been dealing with some hair thinning again! I am using this red light hat from HIGHERDOSE. I’m also trying this hair serum from SISLEY. Fingers crossed!
  9. Do you know about the VIVRELLE program? It is a subscription membership where you can borrow (try out) designer bags. I think it’s pretty genius, because I’ve paid way too much for bags I thought were great, only to end up not loving them because they didn’t hold enough.
  10. Okay, do you all know that Martha Stewart and Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali have a skincare brand called ELM BIOSCIENCES? It is a Farm-to-Lab and Lab-to-Patient. I’ve just started using it, and I’m praying that I will look like Martha Stewart by the time I finish it!
  11. This entire collection from WEEZIE TOWELS in the print of the season for fall! I die!

I am off to do some things for my cute mom! She is getting better and better! She can bend her knees 60% now and will be out of those awful leg braces in three more weeks. We are headed back to Montana for a long weekend on Thursday. I am ready for a shot of cooler air! We come back home on Sunday and go directly into babysitting duty for a week. I’m excited to spend some time with my older two grandkids. They are in 6th and 8th grade now, and spend a lot of time with friends, so I am not seeing them as much. It’s busy, busy!
