A TURTLENECK DRESS THAT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE WEARING YOUR FAVORITE TEE
Happy Hump Day! I was so excited to read your comments and emails about Monday’s post. Keep the requests coming. I am definitely going to start putting more interiors on this blog. It’s a passion of mine, and I don’t know why I haven’t been doing it. As a matter of fact, I was in the design district with my designer yesterday afternoon. I wanted to show this classic and comfy turtleneck dress that feels like you are wearing your favorite tee. It will keep you warm but not give you hot flashes!
A Sweater Dress Look Without The Heat
I found this dress from Vince at Nordstrom right before Christmas. What I like about it is that it’s a cotton blend, so it’s super comfy, it has a turtleneck and long sleeves for cold days, but it’s not like a typical turtleneck dress that you are going to roast in when you are inside. I love the sweater dress trend, but most of them are heavy and bulky and too warm for the indoors. This is the perfect “sweater dress” look that is easy to layer over and will be comfortable in front of a fire. It’s a little over $200, which I thought was a reasonable price for Vince and a dress. The dress comes with a self-tie, but I added the suede belt. I chose to wear boots (mine are a couple of years old, but similar here), but a pair of sneakers, combat boots, or low heels would be great with this dress. It would make a great travel dress too!
Hexagon Weave Bag Brand
How fun is the bag I am carrying? This is a new brand (to me) called Welden. All of the bags have the signature hexagon weave on them and crafted by hand (video here). I like all of the styles, but the one I am carrying was my favorite until I saw the new totes for summer ( I seriously like all of their bags). The bag I am carrying is so pretty and “ladylike,” but it also has an adjustable strap and can be worn crossbody style. It has ample room for all of the junk I carry! I thought this bag looked much more expensive but is under $500 (which is impressive for a handmade leather bag). Oh yeah, all of their leathers have been treated and are water and scratch resistant! I may have to bite the bullet and get this tote for travel.
It’s a nasty rainy day in Dallas today. I am not lying but almost every time I am scheduled to shoot pictures it rains. It’s been this way for the last couple of years. I have it scheduled and then it rains and I am constantly rescheduling my calendar. It’s so frustrating. I suppose today will be a catch-up day for errands and things that need to be done around the house. There is always something that can be done around my house! Cleaning out drawers sounds good on a nasty rainy day. Wherever you are, I hope it’s a great day for you! xx
