ADDING FALL PIECES NOW
Hi, everyone! I hope you all are good and getting ready for the day! I have one of those busy days, that kind of happened last minute. Also, I was supposed to be in Florida right now for a celebration with Chico’s, but have some family things going on later this week and had to back out.
Today, I am filling that time with a Lafayette148 fashion show, and then my Chic at Every Age girls (minus Natalie, who is out of town) are heading to Fort Worth to be the guest speakers at a Neiman Marcus fashion event with TCU. It’s a hectic day! I know it’s hard to think about fall clothes when it’s still rather hot outside. If you go into a shopping mall without a sweater on (especially in Dallas), it will get you in the mood! Not to mention the Halloween decorations I have seen in stores already! My point here is that it’s time to start adding fall pieces now!
A few things that I have added thus far:
This suede jacket that I have on. I got it during the Nordstrom sale, and it’s unfortunately not on sale anymore, but it’s still a great price for a suede jacket! In addition, this jacket is the perfect weight for cool fall days and nights and comes in a beautiful ruby color as well. Also, I like this one too! Suede is a great way to welcome in fall.
I have also added a few pieces of leopard print. Actually, I could buy every single thing in leopard! I have said it before, but leopard is my favorite color! It just goes with everything and is a neutral. Think about adding a blouse, dress, tee, or jacket to your closet. So far, I have added this blouse (actually gifted) and this coat that is a huge splurge, but I have been looking for it for about four years now, and I will have it forever! Meow!!!
A fun updated pair of jeans is a great addition. The black pair I am wearing was also bought at Nordstrom during the sale. I took these photos and then took the jeans back to Nordstrom thinking I didn’t really like them, but when I got the photos back, I went back and repurchased them! They are a straight leg but still have a little flare and a raw hem. I like how they look with a slide or a loafer. Also, I want a distressed straight leg like this (on sale). How cute are these paper bag waist jeans? They are definitely an updated pair! Furthermore, I think a camo pair is a great pair to add. I also think you need a tuxedo stripe jean for fun!
A jewel tone in anything screams fall!
This beautiful green lace top is gorgeous on its own but so pretty under a jacket. I love this long sleeve ruffle top in this deep burgundy! I am crazy for this beautiful teal velvet cocktail dress. Also, this is one of those dresses that if you don’t get it now, it’s gone and it is fab! How pretty is this emerald robe that can be worn in lots of different ways! Get something in a jewel color!
The last thing I think is essential to an early fall wardrobe is plaid!
Plaid always takes me back to the beginning of a new school year and fall. I have yet to purchase anything plaid, but I saw a few pieces while I was out yesterday that I am thinking about. This jacket is a simple black and white plaid, but imagine how much wear you would get out of it. You can put any color under it and any pant with it! This paper bag pant is darling and is just right for early fall. This dress is the perfect plaid piece to add into your closet and won’t break the bank! I think I love this plaid top because it reminds me of a school girl and looks so cute under a jacket. These plaid tuxedo stripe pants are in my cart, and I am about to pull the trigger! Swooning!
SHOP FALL PIECES
I hope I have given you some things to start thinking about for fall. It’s not deep, I know, just fun to think about! I hope you all have a great day! P.S…I know my slides above look horrible. They are at the shoe doctor having a makeover now! I have worn them way too much! xx

Hope you have a great day, even though it is busy. I love, love, love Plaid! Hmmm I think I will have to head to the mall and take a look around. I just picked up a utility jacket in the olive green that I know I will get a ton of wear out of. Too bad you couldn’t make the Chico’s thing in Florida. I really like their clothing. Thanks for your blog, I really enjoy reading and seeing all the great clothing. 🙂

Hi, Joanne! I got home tonight at 9 after leaving the house at 1 today! A long day for sure! I love plaid too! I saw so many cute plaid jackets and pants at Neiman’s today!!! Love that you got an army jacket! You will wear it a ton for sure! I love mine and have had it for years!
I’m sorry I didn’t get to make it to Chico’s as well. I just have too much going on and I am learning to say no, which is so hard for me!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for reading the blog! I so appreciate it!!! xx
