ANIMAL PRINTS ARE BACK

Hello, ladies! I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! It’s been over a week since I checked in, and I apologize. I was in California and didn’t have one minute to sit down on my computer. I spent the first two days at my daughter’s house and then went to Newport Beach with my dear friend, Janet. We had twenty-four hours by ourselves, and it was a blast! We were there to shoot content for the Balboa Bay Resort, and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had lunch as soon as we arrived and then checked into our room, which was huge, gorgeous, and a view of the bay. We then proceeded to the spa and had the most relaxing massages. We went to Louie’s By the Bay and had a fabulous dinner.

Our next morning consisted of room service, a quick trip to the pool, and the most fun Duffy boat ride with Janet driving! We checked out, went to some cute boutiques, and had a late lunch before returning to LA. One of my dearest friends in Dallas came the next day, and we had a great time. In between outings, I spent time with my granddaughters (one in particular). I cannot believe how much they have changed in six weeks! They are heavenly! I said goodbye on Friday and returned to Dallas.

Now that I am back home, it’s time to really talk Fall! I am so excited that animal prints are back (did they really ever go away?)! Leopard is my favorite color, and this dress combined the print in olive and black, and it looks so fresh! Animal prints are one of the six prints taking over the streets this season, and I am not mad about it at all! Animal prints (especially leopard) go with everything. I think you can treat them like a neutral and mix them with other patterns.

I bought this Steve Madden dress last year in a beautiful amber color. It has a very flattering silhouette with the tie waist and comes in other colors. If you can’t find your size here, I found a few more sizes here. This is a great dress for day or night! I paired it with a leather (like) jacket, hoping it gets cooler soon. I may not be able to wear it until October, but I’ve got it! I am wearing my standby L’Agence heels. Have you all been shoe shopping for Fall yet? I was doing that exact thing for a little while in LA last week and on Saturday here. I get so confused about what to buy! I will do a post on that Friday.

I know it’s still hot in most places, but as the weather changes, I wanted to show you a couple more animal print items I have my eye on. This Snow Leopard coat, this long faux fur coat, these bow sandals, this fabulous maxi dress, this zebra train case, this leopard tee, love this dress, a leopard scarf for just a touch, obsessed with this blouse (on sale), and how cute is this leopard print basket? I could go on and on!

We had my in-laws, my mom, and her husband over for dinner last night. We celebrated my stepdad’s birthday. It was so much fun, but I am running behind this morning. I am shooting today, visiting with a sweet counselor, and then taking one of the girls (my dog) to the vet. I honestly feel like I can never catch up!

This is off the subject, but do you ever hide jewelry when you leave town and forget where you hide it? I do it every time I leave town, then have a panic attack when I can’t find it. I just ordered a Mycube Safe to put in my closet. I haven’t gotten it yet, but I think it will help make me feel not as crazy! I am not working with them, but they gave me a referral link. I think you get money off and your own referral link. I just wanted to share!
