AWE INSPIRED
Good Morning Everyone! My week has already been so busy, that it feels like it should be Friday! I was talking to my friend Deb on the phone yesterday about not having enough hours in the day. I thought once I got to this point in life that I would have more time. Wrong! Is it me, or do you all feel the same way?
Today, I want to introduce you to a brand near and dear to me. Meet AWE! AWE (Alive We’re Empowered) is a fine jewelry company, founded by Jill Johnson, a three-time breast cancer survivor, that honors and celebrates the triumphs of people who have gone through adversity. As a jewelry designer, she wanted to create a beautiful piece of jewelry that survivors could proudly wear.
The AWE medallion is a universal symbol of strength, hope, and resilience. The four droplets forming the center of the medallion represent the elements of survival, which are blood, sweat, and tears. Blood to remind us we’re alive and empowered, Sweat for the determination exerted, Tears of sorrow for the dark times overcome, and Tears of joy in celebration of triumph. The pieces come in either sterling silver or 14k gold accented with a peridot (the gemstone of renewal and self-empowerment, that happens to be my birthstone!). They are a beautiful gift for a survivor!
My sweet friend Catherine, of Catherine Grace O’Connell, introduced the brand to me, and me to the brand. Catherine is a survivor of Lyme Disease and a kick-ass warrior. She went through so much but has made her way back to health. There are so many stories of survivorship with many different afflictions (rape, bullying, sickness, etc…). I love that this brand is celebrating all of them. You can read about the different survivors and how AWE gives back, Here. Their stories will inspire you! I am so honored to be an inaugural member of the AWE LIST!!!
The dress I am wearing is quite a different look for me. I usually don’t wear this much color, but I liked the bright camo for some reason. You all probably already know about the online shop, Shein, but if you don’t, now you do! I had heard a lot about it but had never ordered from the site. I decided to give it a try. I picked out the dress I am wearing and two tops. Are you ready for this…the dress is only $13! It doesn’t look cheap at all in person. I was pretty impressed with it and the two tops. I did order xs in the tops, and they were way too small, but the quality was not bad. I will probably order from them again. This is a great site for trendy things that you don’t want to spend a lot of money on. The dress is an XS and it fit fine…go figure!
I have a sweet blogger friend from Houston staying with us for a few days. She has a crazy day, and so do I. Oh, forgot to mention that my husband and I started taking personal Pilates training together (haha!!!). We had our first session on Monday, and my ribs are so sore that it hurts to breathe. I’m trying to get some definition in the arms before the wedding. Maybe I should have thought about that six months ago!
Have a great Wednesday, and thank you for reading this blog!!! xx

I have ordered trendy things several times from Shein and agree on sizing. Some things fit great and then other times my normal size is wayyy too small. I do like them because I think quality is much better than the price indicates. Great site for my teenage daughter as well due to prices and huge inventory.
