BRAND SPOTLIGHT-D’ASCOLI

Hello, everyone! If you live in Texas, I hope you stay inside and drink lots of water! I cannot get over how hot it is already! Living in Texas, you expect that the summers are hot and unbearable, but it usually happens in July and August. It’s just way too early for it to be this hot! I mentioned that my husband and I were going to take a little vacation to California at the end of this month. Well, we changed it and booked Miami instead. I wish we could change it again because we will go from hot to hotter! I’m just grateful for a little getaway after all the company we’ve had.

BRAND SPOTLIGHT- D’ASCOLI

When it’s this hot outside, dresses, skirts, and shorts are the only options for staying cool. I wanted to introduce you to a brand that was new to me (earlier this year) called D’Ascoli. I learned about them from my daughter-in-law while we were in Naples, Florida. D’Ascoli has the prettiest and most feminine pieces. Peter D’Ascoli founded the Talianna Studio in New Delhi, a design and product development atelier that creates luxury fabrics for interiors. In 2012, Cecile D’Ascoli developed a garment collection at the studio. She designed it based on what she would wear, easy-going dresses, kaftans, tops, and skirts, with a casual bohemian vibe. I love all of the beautiful styles and prints from D’Ascoli. They have a chic Italian vibe to them. Most of the dresses are made from hand-spun, hand-woven, 100% cotton. My dress is exactly that: gorgeous dolman balloon sleeves and a self-tie belt.

I also love the tops from D’Ascoli. This one is the perfect summer top, and this one is a great option for a cooler night. D’Ascoli also offers their fun prints in napkins, placemats, and tablecloths. More D’Ascoli is found here.

Hank

Hank is another brand that I wanted to bring to your attention. I partnered with them for Instagram, and I think their idea is brilliant. Hank is a network of adults 55+ that are building the lives they want in the cities they love. You can become an inaugural member by creating an account on their website and joining a group or attending an upcoming event (if available in your city). This is a great way to meet like-minded people who enjoy the same interests that you do.

I think this is a brilliant idea to expand your social network and friends, especially if you are moving to a new city. I wanted to bring this to your attention because I know that many of you are still trying to figure out what to do as empty-nesters. This is a great way to meet new people and maybe learn something new!

I’m still fighting this darn sinus infection and am so over it! I spent all day yesterday blowing my nose (nice!). My grandkids leave tomorrow, but the next time I see them, they will be here for good! Woot Woot!
