CORDUROY WEATHER

CORDUROY WEATHER
Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you had a fantastic week! It got super cold in Dallas this week. I know you Northerners are laughing, but seriously, it was forty-seven degrees and rainy on Wednesday. That is cold for Dallas in November! It went from eighty degrees last week to freezing this week. It took me a minute to figure out what to wear! It’s about time and so fun when the cool weather arrives. It’s also time to break out the hardcore sweaters and corduroys!
I generally seem to gravitate toward corduroy pants (jean type) when cold weather arrives. I typically like a small wale corduroy; however, there are so many corduroy pieces this year, from pants to jackets with all different size wales. So, I was at Anthropologie a few weeks back and saw the corduroys I am wearing. I thought they were cute on the hanger but was unsure how they would look because they looked very low-waisted. I love them! They are a slim boyfriend style, and the description says they are a mid-rise. I have a long waist, so they are more of a lower rise for me, which feels different after wearing mid and high-rise jeans for a while now. I have to say that I am embracing a lower rise again. It feels better on my stomach (because I am constantly bloated!).
Styling My Outfit
These corduroys look great with an oversized slouchy sweater, graphic tees, or a cute ruffled blouse. How adorable is this shirt that I have in my cart? I rolled the hem on mine to show off my boots (which are from two years ago). I always think corduroy is a great casual Thanksgiving look. I’ve picked out a few more corduroy pieces below.

I am going to try to play catch-up this weekend. I have been trying to do some Christmas shopping this week and want to try and start wrapping so that I don’t get overwhelmed. Speaking of being overwhelmed, I am interviewing an assistant today. Please keep your fingers crossed that it works out. I am over my head!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Stay well and be safe! xx

I love your style and can tell that you are a kind person but wow your posts are just boring. Weather….weather…..lunch…..lunch. And it just bugs me that we never see your eyes. I know they are beautiful. I can afford expensive clothing and makeup and all that goes with that but that is such a small part of life. I know this is a style blog but I can tell every Monday morning what it will say. I’m moving on to a more creative blog that also has pretty clothes. This is not meant to be mean but constructive criticism. I’m a Southern woman and constantly work to prove I am more than a pretty face and pretty clothes. I certainly appreciate your efforts and that courage it takes to put yourself out there. Carry on. Ignore folks like me.

Hi, Becky! Thanks for your comment on how boring I am. You know, you are right! I haven’t been doing a whole heck of a lot in the last year or so and I guess that has made me a huge bore. I’ve tried to stay healthy and keep my family healthy by keeping my circle small, so yes, I am boring! As for your constructive criticism, it just made me feel horrible (if you want to know the truth)..I’m so happy that you are more than a pretty face and pretty clothes and am sure that you have a lot more to offer. I’m just trying to give women over 50 some fashion inspiration and if I share a little of my boring life, it’s because I am like everyone else, trying to get by and stay sane right now. If your goal was to make me feel bad, you accomplished it!

Hi Cathy, just wanted to let you know that I’m not bored at all by your posts. On the contrary, I am always looking forward to them. Not just your fashion tips and pictures but also what is going on in your life and how you bring that with a sense of humor. It brings a ray of sunshine in my boring life, so thank you for that. Last week I listened to the podcast you mentioned a couple of weeks ago and it made me realize how much work and efforts you are going through to keep this blog going. Knowing this, I understand that comments like Becky’s make you feel bad, but please always keep in mind that there are loads of women out there who do appreciate what you are doing. So, keep going and enlighten my day. XX Connie

Hi Becky, you could have simply left this blog without this non-constructive comment. Then Cathy could have ignored you. If someone has proven she is more than a pretty face and pretty clothes it is her! Next time maybe think before you comment.
