NEW YORK BOUND AND LABOR DAY SALES

Happy Labor Day Weekend! What are you all up to? We have been babysitting our older grandkids while their parents have been out of the country for the last week, and as of yesterday, both kids are gone for the rest of the long weekend. So now we are babysitting three dogs (our youngest son’s dog too), plus our two. I looked at my husband yesterday and asked him, “What is wrong with this picture”? When we go out of town, I have to hire someone to watch our dogs! It’s fine; we weren’t doing anything anyway until next weekend when we head to New York.

I am so excited but scared to death about what I am headed to New York for. Fashion Week starts this week, and I was asked to walk in a show for Cancer Culture. This will be their seventh show during Fashion Week, and it usually sells out. The show highlights a designer or two, but really focuses on the models, who are all breast cancer survivors, with most having Metastatic Breast Cancer. The money raised goes directly to research for Metastatic Breast Cancer. I have been on a few Zoom calls over the last few weeks and met some of the women with MBC, and they are bad-asses with a lot of joy. I am just in awe of them!  Anyway, most of my family will be there to cheer me on! What did Eleanor Roosevelt say? “Do one thing every day that scares you”… well, this will be for every day for the rest of the year! If you’d like to donate to Cancer Culture, here is the LINK. So, what am I taking to New York?  Black, of course! This outfit I’m wearing is coming with me. I absolutely love this knit black top! How gorgeous is it with the gold hardware? It’s going fast in black on all of the websites except Cult Gaia, but I also found it in green and camel. I paired the top with simple black satin pants (similar) and leopard-print kitten heels (similar and on sale). This is the perfect dinner outfit!
