GERARD DAREL-DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

Anyone else exhausted with what is going on? Wow! This week has been one for the books; wait, this entire year has been! I am drinking too much wine. And these election results need to be decided so that I can stop! I am really not one to get down. But I have to admit that I have been. I am so concerned about the country and what my grandchildren have in store for them. I’m trying to keep reminding myself that God is in control. Whatever the outcome, He is the one who is really in charge.

Gerard Darel, Designer Spotlight

I want to introduce you to a designer that was recently introduced to me. Meet Gerard Darel, a French success story. Gerard Darel created the brand in 1971, and it was once known as a “little known” fashion house. The brand now has a large European following and a big following for celebrities (many loving his boho looks) in the U.S. The first Gerard Darel shop opened in Paris in 1987, and now, the luxury fashion brand has expanded across the globe bringing Parisian style to us.

There is a great selection at Bloomingdales. I was graciously sent the leopard maxi dress by the brand and absolutely love it. The dress looks great as is or with a turtleneck under it or chunky sweater over it. The dress in this print is gone but available in this print and this one. I do, however, love this dress in the leopard print. This tie-neck top is so cute too!

A few more pieces that I have my eye on are this sequin sweater and pleated skirt for the holidays!

I think these drawstring pants look comfy and chic and would pair them with this zebra print sweater, and I love this dress and this coat! Gerard Darel is also known for his great leather bags. I very much like this bucket bag!

I love being introduced to designers that I didn’t know about. There are so many creative ones, and each has a story to tell. I hope you all like finding out about them too! You might just find the exact piece you are looking for (or maybe you didn’t know you did!)

I have friends from Nashville arriving today. It is going to be a total girls’ weekend, and I am so excited. We are shopping and dining out and I am counting on laughing a lot! I need it for sure!
