GRANDFATHER CARDIGANS SPICED UP
Hello there, and Happy Saturday! I hope you all had a great week and lovely weather as we did in Dallas. It’s been great the last few days with temperatures cooler than usual for this time of the year. We enjoy it while we can because, as Texans, we know it can change on a dime. I talked to a friend of mine in California yesterday, and I am so sorry and sad for everyone that lives there. The fires are just unbelievable. Have you seen pictures of the sky in San Francisco? It looks so scary! I hope they get control of them soon!
If I were getting graded on blogging, I know I would get a D or an F these last couple of months. I do apologize for not doing my job as consistently as before. And I do not know the reason why, but I am having a hard time getting it together right now. I am trying not to be too hard on myself. So with that said, I got so excited about cooler weather this week that I have unpacked my sweaters and fall clothes (maybe a little premature). I have always been a cardigan girl and am so happy that they are a big trend again, in particular, the grandfather cardigan. It is spiced up a bit with a more cropped length and puffed sleeves, here. Also still strong this fall is a Fairisle print in a cardigan or pullover sweater (a la Reese Witherspoon).
Unfortunately, the temperatures are going back up today, and through the next week, so the sweaters will remain in my drawer for a little longer. Just seeing them gives me hope of cooler weather to come.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Stay well! xx

I still have my quilted-front cardigan from the ‘80’s! I better dig it out from the depths of my closet.
I think your number of blogs is perfect for the season we’re in. We don’t have many events to dress up for, but you’re encouraging us to remember that we will be able to be more social again. Fun to add a few new pieces to our wardrobe to be ready. You also remind us that we’re not the only ones who are staying a lot closer to home than usual.
Thank you.

No worries. Sometimes it is hard to get motivated with everything that’s going on. I’m a therapist and I’m seeing it in most of clients. We just cooled off here on the Central Coast in California but I’m sure we will have a few more warm days before it’s really fall. I used to live in DeSoto,Tx, which I’m sure you know. I definitely miss the change of seasons that we had in Dallas. It is beautiful here but I have learned not to buy any more heavy sweaters unless I’m going somewhere that has seasons. It’s mostly lot’s of layering for me and very lightweight sweaters. But I still get excited to pull them out. I enjoy your ideas. Please keep blogging!

I want number two. I’m digging out a paisley sweater that’s very similar from Eddie Bauer. I must have purchased that sweater a decade ago.

Have you considered it might be because of the Covid-19 CRISIS happening in your country, Cathy! Have you all forgotten the toll it is taking on so many aspects of life in your country. The rest of the world just looks on in horror!
