GREEN QUARANTINE DRESS
GREEN QUARANTINE DRESS
Hey, everyone! How are all of you doing, and how are you fairing in quarantine? I hope none of you reading this or anyone you know has had Covid-19. I don’t know a single person who has had it. Quarantine is going as well as it could be. We are working some, taking walks, cleaning (should be doing more), watching lots of shows, and talking to our kids a lot. My husband has been cooking our dinners most nights, but we are ordering from some of our favorite restaurants to help them. I was watching the news non-stop last week but have limited it this week. It’s so depressing! I want to stay as positive as I can, and watching the news doesn’t help.
GREEN QUARANTINE DRESS
So I bought this dress about three weeks ago from Anthropologie and photographed it then. I thought this was such a cute spring dress that could be worn in many places (when we get the green light to surface again!). Where could you wear it if you were not in quarantine? The office, to church, luncheons, graduation events, dinner, and lots more (I do know that some of these things might not happen this spring, but being positive!!!). Anyway, the dress is so fun with the handkerchief hem and the dot and stripe pattern. I tied it with the self-belt but would add a different belt to it like this one.
There seem to be so many sales right now (NORDSTROM), and I am all about helping retailers stay in business, especially now and especially if I need something. Are you all taking advantage of these sales, or are you still not in the mood? This is a weird time to be a blogger/influencer. I don’t necessarily feel like doing a lot of shopping. And I can tell you that I am having a hard time with inspiration and motivation. I would never want to push anything on anyone now or ever. I only want to show you things that I like and use, and if you aren’t interested, that’s okay. But, I have to keep going because it is my job and I have to pay people who help me plus I have contracts.
So, enough of that! There are a few things I also wanted to mention.
There are emails and texts going around about taking Advil right now. I would feel bad if I didn’t share this. The thought is that the virus seems to thrive on it, and patients that otherwise would be healthy are having significantly worse reactions than others if they had taken Advil somewhat recently. Now, we checked this on Snopes and they labeled it “unproven” but they also linked some articles from French doctors indicating the same concerns. It stated that anti-inflammatory medicines can weaken the immune system, and we want our immune systems in tiptop shape.
I mentioned that Elderberry Syrup is excellent for boosting immunity. I love this one. Also, I wrote about CocoaVia last week and keeping our brains and heart as healthy as possible. I wanted to give you that information, and you can do with it what you want. We have told our family not to take Advil right now until there is more information.
The last thing I wanted to mention is this.
Are you staying in touch with friends and family? Even though we are “shelter in place” right now, we were all made to be in community with people. We live in a virtual reality world, and talking with each other has kind of become passé. Ladies, pick up the phone and call your friends and family. I think everyone wants to hear a real voice right now. I had a FaceTime call with three of my best friends from Birmingham this week. It was so fun to see their faces and catch up with our voices instead of a group text. I think at this time; we really need a “real” connection (even if it’s only a phone call).
Okay, I lied! One more thing. Is anyone as miffed as me that over fifty is considered ELDERLY? I suppose if I’m going to be considered elderly, I’m okay with Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston, Madonna, Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Julianne Moore being “elderly” with me!
What are your plans for the weekend? Ha! Probably the same as mine! The weather is supposed to be crappy tomorrow, but Sunday looks better. We bought bikes as the quarantine was starting, and I want to ride them on Sunday. I am going to order a basket with a harness so that we can take the dog with us! Yes, I am going to be one of those people!
Have a great weekend, stay healthy, and know that I am so grateful for all of you!

I’ve heard it said that hemlines are indicative of what the stock market is doing. Skirts are shorter when the market is strong and the reverse is true when the market’s down. With all of the midi length dresses this spring, I would say that seems to be true!

I love your posts and enjoy all the work you put into these emails Cathy. I live in the town of Alamo one hour east of San Francisco. My cousin has the virus, his wife has the virus, her mother is in the hospital with the virus. People in the firm my husband works for have it in London, NYC, and Hong Kong. Yesterday on the news they were saying the next hotspots were Dallas and Arizona. My daughter is a McCombs School senior at UT Austin and the school closed because the wife of the school president has it. So yes, when it comes to an area, many are infected. Those communities that have not been touched yet should prepare vs acting as they are untouchable. Believe me, even the hospitals out in my area are seeing the impact and a school in our county is being set up to take in those that the hospitals can’t fit. My sister is a nurse and non of them are protected. A nurse in NYC died yesterday after taking care of virus patients. In Italy that virus is now moving from the north to other regions. I hope you continue not knowing anyone who has the virus and stay healthy yourself!

Oh my gosh – thank you for mentioning being miffed about the over-50 information concerning the Coronavirus. I have mentioned a couple of times that it has been hard to have to come to terms that I am included in the 60+ group that have to take special care. Talk about hitting you between the eyes with the information! Take care and stay healthy.
