J. McLaughlin Dress
Good Morning everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I flew to New York on Saturday morning (6:15 AM) for fashion week, which felt like Sunday, so I am a little confused feeling on what day it is! I wanted to post this J. McLaughlin dress today, because it is the perfect dress to pack for a trip. Do you all have those travel pieces that just automatically go in your suitcase when you have to pack? This dress is one of those! It is a matte knit with a fold over neck line (hiding some of those lovely neck wrinkles!) that packs beautifully. It’s the perfect dress to wear to dinner, the theater, meetings, church, or hate to say it…but the perfect “funeral” dress. You know you have to have those in your wardrobe, like it or not! My blogger buddy in Nashville, The Locus of Style (above) and I , love these basic black dresses!
I have had so much fun so far on this trip! I am with a few of my blogger friends, So Heather, She She Show, Street Style Squad, The Lush List, and Tanya Foster. We attended a fashion show the first night, that was really a little bit (okay, a lot) of a bust. The room was packed and felt like a sauna, and our reserved seats had been taken, so we stood crammed together with a lot of other bodies. By the end of the show, everyone was sweating buckets, and I was starting to have a mini panic attack, because of it! I know it’s not PC to leave during a show, but I did! It was toward the end, and I bolted out the door. We were all very happy to get out of there and to a nice restaurant for dinner.
Yesterday we went to one of the most fun presentations (many lines have gone to presentations instead of actual shows). It was Veronica Beard, who is one of my favorite brands! We got to meet the two Veronica’s (who are sister in law’s), who are precious! The presentation was in the basement of their Madison Avenue store, and was a throw back to the 60’s and 70’s. There were disco balls hanging, leopard wall paper, gorgeous models, and my favorite part…a buff bodied male model laying on a bed in boxer shorts! Every woman in there was staring at him. I do not know how he kept a straight face! I loved every minute of it! The rest of the day we shopped around the city.
Today, I have a meeting, then two shows, and tonight is the Reward Style party (that’s the affiliate link I work with). It should be another full day. I head back tomorrow after another meeting and show, and I am sure I will need a few naps this week to catch back up. The price you pay for fun!
Have a great day and thank you for reading! xx

The dress is perfect! I agree with you; you always have to pack that little black dress for a trip.
I can relate to how you felt at the first show! Those crowded places where AC seems inexistent! I would’ve left too!

The dress is adorable, but I think, you with your bright skin, look better in brighter colors. I like the shoes very much. Chic and spicy 🙂

Hi Joanna! Thank you for the comment! I have a problem that I tend to buy a lot of black, and color probably does look better on me, especially blues, greens, purples, and pumpkin shades. I love the way you described my skin color too! Instead of “pasty white” you said bright! I am going to use that from now on!!!! Thank you for reading the post!!! xx

Well… My English is not perfect, but you know what I mean 🙂 I’m glad I did not say anything abusive 😉
