Does anyone know what day it is? I know the date, but promise I am not sure what day of the week it is! Do you all feel like that after Christmas? I think I am mainly messed up because we are traveling. Speaking of traveling, I wanted to show you this super soft plaid coat that is lightweight enough to pack quickly into a bag. I wanted to bring several coats with me on this trip, and this one was easy enough to throw in my bag. Sometimes I don’t want to wear a huge and bulky coat, especially if I am shopping in a mall or getting in and out of a car. Heavy coats wear me out when I shop! I know they are necessary for the winter while walking in cities like New York or Chicago, but they get heavy and hot when you get inside. This plaid coat may not be for walking around in the city on a freezing day, but it could be layered under a heavy coat for a chic look once the coat is removed.
I think my jeans, v-neck cashmere sweater, and floral scarf from Elizabeth Gillett (another post with her scarves, here) make this such a pretty look for daytime, but I also want to wear this coat with a black tee shirt dress or leggings. I paid full retail for mine, but it is now on sale (like everything in the world) right now. I think to get a stylish coat under $200 is a pretty good deal!
We had such a wonderful time at the farm celebrating my in-law’s 60th anniversary. They are 80 and 81 and in the best shape. They are very young at heart and to think that they have been married that long blows my mind. There were about twenty adults and nine children (oldest was 13) to make the house loud and lively. I was really blessed by the in-law Gods! They have taught me so much about love, faith, and family, and I hope that my children and their spouses and children will think of me the same way. Well, it won’t be the same, because I am a little naughty (oops), but I hope they will at least think of me fondly!
We are off this morning to drive to Nashville. We are headed to a friend’s 60th birthday party. Lordy, how did we get to this place where our friends are turning 60? I still think I am in my 30’s until I look in the mirror, and then I remember that I am in fact not, but I am thankful just to be here!
Hope you have a great day and stay warm! xx
