RIBBED KNIT DRESS
RIBBED KNIT DRESS
Hello, my friends! I hope you all are doing well! I am sorry that I am off schedule this week but I have a great excuse. My son and daughter-in-law who live in Ohio came in on Friday and left today. It was the first time they had visited without the kids. My younger son and my other daughter-in-law got back on Saturday from their forty-day trip, so we had a lot of family time! I usually write my posts on Monday, but this past Monday, all of the Williamson girls (including the 3-month old granddaughter) went to lunch and then to the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse.
It was a gorgeous day to sit outside for lunch and then tour the house. If you live in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area and have not seen it, I highly recommend it! It is fabulous! I love going to showhouses, however, it makes me want to completely re-do my house (which isn’t happening!).
Styling My Dress
Because life seems to be getting back to “somewhat” normal, and people are going out more, I thought I would show this fabulous ribbed knit polo-style dress. I bought it in hopes that I would be invited to a luncheon or girl’s night out. Knits are so in this season from dresses to anything else you put on your body. I love that this dress has an asymmetrical angled hem and longer sleeve length giving it some major personality.
The color reminds me of rust chrysanthemums. I’ve included ten more knit dresses below. If you like ones that button all the way down, wear it open over jeans! Now for my one little small piece of advice when wearing a knit dress, wear this underneath! I chose to wear this dress with a black suede boot (similar) but will also wear it with a fun shoe like this. I know you all must get sick of me carrying the same bags over and over, but I buy one, maybe two bags a year and I have to get my cost per wear out of them.
I have one of those weeks where I feel like I can’t even take a breath.
I am helping my daughter with the baby for most of the day today. So, I don’t ever turn down a chance to spend time with her! However, I have a million things to do and I will have to figure out how to squeeze it all in for the rest of the week.
One quick reminder, Shopbop has a great sale going on until tomorrow. I have included some of my favorite items below. Use code: STYLE at checkout!
Have you all started your Christmas/ Holiday shopping? I know it’s early but I think everyone is thinking about it because of what we are hearing about shortages. Also, I got all of my oldest granddaughter’s gifts bought last weekend and have ordered several other gifts. I am going to start trying to knock it out. I know it seems early, but you know how it goes. It’s the middle of October and we are going to blink and it’s going to be Thanksgiving! Why does it always work like that?
Okay, ladies, I hope you all have a great Humpday! Stay well and safe! xx

Cathy l like reading your posts but l do find the items you recommend are incredibly expensive. I cannot afford individual presents that cost hundreds of dollars! Holidays for most of us are expensive and we have to budget accordingly. Please be aware of the price divide and show items that are fun and attractive but also “doable “. I know in my family with adult children everyone is struggling with covid life and economic pressures so there is a tight budget of $100 in place per person so nobody is embarrassed. The thrill is finding something. Others l know are doing much lower that that. $50, $30. Thanks for listening.

As soneome who reads Cathy’s posts regularly, she has highlighted clothing from stores like Target and Walmart! She also has shown us dupes of designer accessories like bags and belts. When I see a designer piece, I look at it as inspirational because there is usually a similar, more affordable version out there in the stores or or online. Cathy, I love the dress, especially the color and asymmetrical hemline, although I highly doubt you need to wear the “this” under it.
All good things!
