SATIN SKIRT WORN TWO WAYS

SATIN SKIRT WORN TWO WAYS

Hi! Is anyone else having difficulty getting back into the groove after the holidays? I’m trying! I’ll tell you what else is hard, shopping! I am shooting for blog content today and have been trying to gather things I like, which has been most difficult. I forget how hard it is to shop in January. Everything is picked over and crammed onto sale racks in the stores, and honestly, I am sick of shopping after Christmas. I think January and the first half of February are great times to shop your closet, and I plan on doing that with a few new things mixed in.

I bought this matching long-sleeved satin top and maxi skirt with a split hem before the holidays to wear as a set and separately. I think it looks very chic as a set, but it’s nice to wear pieces in multiple ways. The satin skirt looks so beautiful and flowy as you move! I draped THE softest cashmere cardigan (less expensive cardigan) over the set for warmth, and I think it gives the look even more sophistication.

I already had this Anine Bing sweatshirt (shopped in my closet) and paired it over the skirt with Moto-style boots for a completely different look. Even though the top is a sweatshirt, I still think it looks appropriate even for a dinner out. I’m carrying the bag I am obsessed with that I mentioned here.

While in LA over New Year’s, I went to my favorite shoe store, Madison Maison, with my best LA friend, Janet. They have the most beautiful leather shoes designed in-house (with 33 years of experience in the high-end market), all made in Italy. They take a lot of pride in creating a beautiful and comfortable shoes. This pair  (from last year) is from Madison, too. Anyway, had I shot this outfit this week, I would have worn the loafers I came home with! Can you die over the chain detail? I am between a size 8 and 8 1/2 and went with the 8 1/2. Check out the website, and if you see something you love, you can use Code: CATHY15!

How cute are both pairs of loafers from Madison Maison?

We finished The Crown before New Year’s and started a new show last week. Have you all seen, Fool Me Once? It is a murder, who-done-it, and it is fantastic! I loved everything that the main character, Maya wore! Check it out if you haven’t seen it. We had been told by several people to watch the movie, Saltburn. We watched it and it was truly one of the most disturbing and weird movies I’ve seen. Some people love it, but I felt icky after seeing it. Have you seen it?

I hope you all have a good day!

Be well and Stay safe! xx
