TWO NEW YEAR’S EVE LOOKS

TWO NEW YEAR’S EVE LOOKS

Happy Friday! Who has finished shopping? I have one more gift to buy, and I am finished and couldn’t be more relieved! I have no idea why I let the shopping slip this year, but I will never do it again. I may start next month for next Christmas because I have felt so stressed! I have wrapped about half and plan to finish this weekend, plus address Christmas cards that I messed up. I didn’t check them, and they look horrible, but they are getting mailed out anyway! Hopefully, I will accomplish everything to enjoy and celebrate next week. Speaking of celebrating, do you have plans for New Year’s Eve? Heather and I are showing two New Year’s Eve looks for some inspiration in case you are at a loss for what to wear.

Honestly, New Year’s Eve is not my thing and never has been. I love to curl up by the fire with a great glass of Cabernet and watch a movie in my pajamas or sweats. So glamorous, right? This year, we are headed to the beach for a few days to spend some time with friends. I’m not sure what is on tap for New Year’s Eve, but I’m sure it will be casual. I am so looking forward to doing NOTHING! Anyway, let’s talk about dressing up!

I love how Heather embraces her gorgeous body (that she works hard for) with form-fitting pieces. She knows exactly what looks good on her and what to buy. This velvet mock-neck open-back dress looks stunning on her. I am guessing it would be super comfortable to wear all night long. The great news is that this dress is on sale for under $100! Worn with a pair of pumps or pretty sandals, you are ready to go!

I am wearing a beautiful blue velvet blazer with matching pants. I know, more velvet (obsessed with it), but it’s such a pretty color! I love wearing separates because I can wear these pieces with other items. I am wearing festive shoes for this look (my favorites and on sale), but I will wear the pants with flats and sneakers. I chose a pretty A.L.C. ribbed top in silver to wear underneath the blazer to give it some sparkle, and I am carrying my favorite bag.

A couple of other pieces that I like for ringing in the New Year are this sequin skirt, sequin collar sweatshirt (with jeans), metallic jersey gown, stunning jumpsuit, satin blazer (over jeans), and this beautiful dress (so pretty for attending a wedding too). If you plan to be home but want to look festive, I always think this pajama set is a winner. It is a little pricey, but for $24, you could get the same look here.

A Few More Ideas

An all-black look is so chic with a sparkly bag (unfortunately, these pieces are sold out, but you could easily recreate this.

I call these my “Party Pants”! This is a simple look with a black turtleneck and hot pink satin pants!

I’m off to a Christmas program at my grandchildren’s school this morning, and we are all going to lunch. That is precisely how I want to spend the day! Nothing better than being with the family! Fingers crossed that the rest of them get well. My daughter-in-law and son were sick last week, and now my daughter (who is eight months pregnant has Covid). Damn that Covid!!!!! Everyone will be better by Christmas (putting it out there)!

Have a great weekend, and remember the reason for the season!

Be Well and Stay Safe! xx
