WHY WOMEN OVER 50 NEED LEATHER (OR FAUX LEATHER) IN THEIR FALL WARDROBE

WHY WOMEN OVER 50 NEED LEATHER (OR FAUX LEATHER) IN THEIR FALL WARDROBE
When the weather cools and fall style comes into play, there’s one fabric that instantly adds polish and edge: leather. Whether you choose the real thing or a well-made faux version, a leather piece is one of the easiest ways to elevate your look.
Take these chocolate brown leather pants I’m wearing. Not only is chocolate brown the color of the fall, but leather in this rich shade feels chic, modern, and surprisingly versatile. You can pair it with everything from a crisp white blouse to a chunky knit sweater—or, like I did here, with a silky blouse in the same tone for a monochromatic look. It’s sleek, timeless, and feels a little luxurious without trying too hard.
For women over 55, leather may feel like a bold choice, but it’s actually one of the best wardrobe investments you can make. It gives structure, flatters the figure, and instantly updates your outfit. And here’s the best part—you don’t have to splurge to get the look. Faux leather has come a long way, both in terms of appearance and feel, making it a budget-friendly and stylish option.
If you’re looking for one new addition to your fall wardrobe, I recommend starting with a pair of leather (or faux leather) pants in a classic cut. They’ll carry you through date nights, dinners with friends, and even casual days with sneakers. Trust me, once you add a piece like this, you’ll wonder how you lived without it.

A little about life lately…Remember when I told you all we were going to Mexico City with our church small group for a fun getaway and bonding trip? We were a day late getting there because of my trip to Charleston. We got there last Friday and met up with the group for lunch. We did get to dine at Masala y Maíz, a Michelin-starred recipient (they have been featured on Chef’s Table). The food was amazing! We went to two museums and then had dinner later that night. My husband woke up in the middle of the night with pain and decided he was having kidney stones. He has had them before and knew what it felt like. He decided he did not want to end up at the hospital in Mexico City, so…we were back at the airport (24 hours later) and back to Dallas. He was in a lot of pain, and we ended up in the ER on Monday morning. Can you believe he did not pass in until Tuesday? He was in labor for over four days! We joke (sort of) that Mexico City was the most expensive trip that never was!
That brings us to what we are doing now. We are babysitting our oldest two grandchildren for ten days! Oh my goodness…you forget how much time you are in the car, herding them to do their homework, and how manipulative they can be at this age! Not to mention, we are also taking care of four dogs. I keep saying that I want to come back as their parents, because they are always off on a fantastic trip somewhere!
We have another week to go, so pray for us! I hope you all have a great day!
Stay safe and Be well!
