INTERVIEW WITH PRABAL GURUNG

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! I spent it with family in Dallas, which means, it was a great weekend! I am so excited to tell you about something very special I got to do on Friday morning. I was invited to interview the talented designer, Prabal Gurung. Prabal  was in town, to receive the Career Achievement in Fashion Award, at the annual Fashion Group International of Dallas, Night of Stars Gala. I was a little nervous, but he was so sweet, that I completely felt at ease!

Prabal was born and raised in Singapore, came to the United States in 1999 and interned for Donna Karan, while attending Parsons School of Design. After graduating Parsons, he spent two years on Cynthia Rowley’s design team, then became design director for Bill Blass. After five years with Blass, he launched his own collection during New York Fashion Week.

Prabal has become a favorite of celebrities. His designs have been worn by Oprah Wynfrey, Kate Middleton, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Diane Kruger to name a few!

So, here are my questions and his answers

TMP- Who is your role model and why? PG– My Mother, because she passed her strength and integrity to me.

TMP- What is your spirit animal? PG- A lion

TMP- Who has been the most fun person to dress? PG- Kristin Wiig, Sarah Jessica Parker, Zoe Saldana and Diane Kruger. TMP- Who would you love to dress that you haven’t yet? PG- All Women.

TMP-Who according to you, is the best dressed woman and man in Hollywood? PG- Kate Blanchett and Diane Kruger. Eddie Redmayne is the coolest dressed man.

TMP- Dog or Cat? PG- Dog

TMP- If I came to your home, and opened your refrigerator, what would I find? PG- Tons and Tons of Food. I love to eat! 

TMP- How many pairs of shoes do you own? PG- Way too many!

TMP- What cheers you up? PG- The sound of my niece. 

TMP- Is there something a woman over 4o should never wear? PG- yes, Daisy Dukes! 

TMP- What question do you hate answering? PG-None.

TMP- Name five things a woman should have in her closet. PG- A perfect little red dress, a high heel sleek pump, red lipstick, perfect white tee, and a Prabal Gurung dress! 

TMP- What do you put on your pizza? PG- Hot Sauce

TMP- Favorite restaurant in New York? PG- Endochine and Cafe Clover

TMP- Best advice you’ve ever been given? PG- Grace under Pressure.
