Well, I am officially in Nashville, for at least seven weeks. I think we brought the rain with us from Dallas. It has been raining since we got here on Friday, and I am really quite tired of it. I am in need of the sun!!! We did the long drive on Friday, then got back in the car on Saturday for a four hour drive to Montgomery, Alabama. Our dogs were like…WTF!!! One of my best friends in the world, was the “Mother of the Bride” on Saturday night. It was a beautiful wedding and reception, and was nice to see some old friends! We hopped back in the car on Sunday morning. WHIRLWIND!

It’s a very strange feeling being back in Nashville. I had such a routine in Dallas, and I am not quite sure what to do with myself yet. I am waking up to workers in my house at 7 in the morning. They are really nice guys, but I want them to leave and not come back!!!! This project is taking way too long, and I want to get acquainted with my house. When I tell you that our stuff has been here since February, and I haven’t been able to unpack, it yet, I am telling the truth. I am hoping they are gone by the end of this month. Fingers crossed!!!

So, this outfit is my take on “mixed media” dressing. I have always been a little bit scared of attempting it, but I bit the bullet for you guys! I tried it with a floral and stripe combo. This is pretty much fool proof if you use matching colors. The skirt is green, black and white, so mixing with the black and white stripe was easy. I think mixing florals and stripes is the way to go if you are going to try this trend. If you want to mix intricate prints, it helps to keep one of them in a neutral color and the other in a bright. And…a little secret, the skirt is from Forever 21, and the top from Zara. I didn’t want to spend a lot on a trend. Would you wear mixed prints? I would love to know!
