FAVORITE BOOTS OF THE MOMENT
FAVORITE BOOTS OF THE MOMENT
Happy Friday! How has your week been? Mine has been fine, except I’m having a hard time getting back into the swing of things for a few reasons. One, I’m still sore from my surgery, and it’s been a little bit of a slow go in that department. Two, I’ve been trying to get over to my parents every day to see my dad. Three, I am having a tough time getting motivated to talk about and show fashion when such horrible events are going on in the world. I kind of feel like what I do (this blog) is so superficial at the moment.
Debby Downer Is Usually Not Me
I don’t know how many of you have Instagram accounts, but seeing the devastation in Australia and the suffering of those poor animals makes me so sad. I look at those pictures, and in the next account, my Instagram takes me to, is someone trying to show what they got for Christmas or what I should buy. I’m not saying all of that is bad, but right now, I’m having a hard time doing it myself. I know that life goes on, and I have to trust God, but because you all are my friends, I wanted you to know how I was feeling about this. I’m usually not a “Debby Downer,” but I bet a lot of you are feeling the same way!
My Favorite Boot Brand
With the above said, I do have a fashion blog so let,’s look at what Heather, of So Heather and I, wore when we were in LA a few months back and stayed at our favorite hotel, The Sunset Marquis (previous post here). Boots and denim are one of my very favorite looks for fall and winter. I have been looking for two years for the color I am wearing and finally found them. The boots I am wearing are from my favorite boot brand called Paris, Texas. I love the rich color and the croc-embossed look. I most always order up a half size in boots so that I can wear socks. I have been debating about getting a metallic pair of booties from the brand, too, like these. I love the boots that Heather has on too! She always looks uber chic and is my favorite travel buddy!
My Go-To Cotton Shirts
The shirt I am wearing (bought in Dallas at Planet Bardot and I also found here) is one of my most favorites of late. It’s from a brand called A Shirt Thing. I’ve only seen the brand in smaller boutiques and on Farfetch, but their shirts are fantastic and have a little feminine flair to them. I have only bought them in cotton, but, they have a velvet that looks gorgeous. This has been my go-to cotton shirt brand when I am in need of one.
What are you all up to this weekend? I’m so excited because my daughter has been gone for almost a month, and she is back for a few days. My husband, daughter, and her boyfriend, youngest son, and his wife are all going to see the Black Pumas in concert tonight. I’m not really familiar with them (have been trying to listen as much as possible) but, they were just nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Tomorrow night we have a little group coming over to have drinks and dinner. Sounding like a fun weekend in store for me! Hope yours is too! xx

Shirt (similar and similar less expensive) // Jeans (similar) // Boots // Belt // Bag (similar) Should have chosen a bag that went more with the boots or shirt, but I forgot to pack one!

I think it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Even though your blog is about fashion, it still cultivates community, which I think is very positive – even a small gesture can make a big difference! I have also been sad and upset about what I’ve seen in Australia, watching wildlife struggle to survive. Your comments nudged me to move faster and after I finished work today, and fed my horses, I looked into various rescue organizations and settled on one that I donated to. Thank you for that Cathy! And I love your blog 🙂
