Happy New Year! I hope each one of you had a wonderful holiday season! We were VERY low key on New Year’s Eve. We were supposed to have dinner (outside) with some friends, but it poured rain all day and night, so we canceled and stayed home. My mom came over to have dinner with us, and we were a party of three. I did not even make it to see the ball drop, but I ate more black-eyed peas than usual! How are you all feeling about the new year? It’s funny, everyone was so ready to bid adieu to 2020, but here we are in the same boat the first couple of days of 2021. My daughter is still in London, and they have just gone to Tier 5 Lockdown until February. I sometimes stop and think that I can’t believe we are living this.
On to fashion! I chose this bright yellow swiss smocked dress to show today because yellow is an optimistic color that stands for positivity, clarity, energy, enlightenment, and joy. Don’t we all need a little of each of those in our lives right now? I am a fan of maxi dresses, swiss dots, and smocking. So this dress was a no brainer for me (the price is amazing too!). I love a Victorian-style dress or blouse mixed with something edgy like the boots I’m wearing. I would also wear this dress in the spring and summer with sandals or a wedge.
Did you know that Pantone picked two colors for 2021 as the color of the year?
They chose yellow and grey (the colors of this kitchen). I chose to carry my caramel color bag and throw on the same color boots with this dress, but after seeing the kitchen inspiration, I do plan to pair the dress with grey. How fabulous are these booties in the grey patent? Optimistic yellow maybe my color for the year too!
Did you all make any New Year’s resolutions? I have quit making them because I always break them. I am that person! However, I am going to work very hard on staying on task and writing down everything on my calendar. I also hope to keep up the exercise. So I am still working out twice a week with a trainer for my strength and bones. I don’t want to be a hunched over old lady!
I hope you all have a glorious day! xx
