Hi, everyone! I hope you had a great weekend and that your week has started in a good way. Our weekend was so busy! We had dinner with friends to celebrate a birthday on Friday night, and the weather was perfect for sitting outside (I won’t eat inside anywhere right now) and looking at the Christmas lights lit up in Highland Park Village. I say it every year that Dallas has THE BEST Christmas lights of any city. Saturday, we did something out of the ordinary with my son and daughter in law. We drove outside of Dallas and took shooting lessons.
I am terrified of guns, but it was an activity to do with the boys. And I have really wanted to learn how to use a gun in the event I need to protect myself. I am hearing of more crime happening in our city. And I think if you own guns (ours are locked in a gun safe), you should know how to use them. I had no idea how to load one or how even to hold it properly. I learned it all on Saturday. But I will definitely be going back to get more lessons. I have no intention of ever firing it unless I am at that shooting range. Several people saw my stories on Instagram and asked where we took the lessons. The place is called Texas Defensive Shooting Academy, and Len Baxley is who needs to teach you!
We had the family and a friend over Saturday night for dinner, and Sunday, we hung out and had dinner with a friend that came in from Nashville to stay for a few nights. This will be a busy week, and I sure wish the weather would get cooler because I am dying to break out and wear the teddy jacket in these photos.
I saw this teddy jacket a few months ago on Shopbop and knew I had to have it. I love soft jackets, and this teddy jacket is definitely that. The problem with ordering a jacket like this ahead of time is that it will sit in my closet until it’s cold enough to wear it, and by the time it does get cold, it’s probably sold out, and I won’t want to show it because it’s not available. Well, friends, it is sold out from Shopbop, but I found it here! Worn with jeans and a soft tee like this one from Madewell, this is my favorite kind of outfit in the fall.
I pulled out this cute and practical bag to carry from Leatherology that can be worn as a crossbody or belt bag (belt strap sold separately). It’s the perfect bag for a day of shopping or sightseeing (will I get to do that again?). It is full-grain leather, comes in twelve colors, and can be monogrammed.
Leatherology is a great source for gifts for women and men.
I am taking my friend to the airport this morning and then getting a little work done on some Christmas gift guides for you all. So I am counting down until Friday when the whole crew will be here! I cannot wait! I hope you all have a great day!
Be well and stay safe! xx
