THE GIFT OF BEAUTY WITH NORDSTROM
THE GIFT OF BEAUTY WITH NORDSTROM
Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you have had a great week! Not sure where you are, but Covid is raising its ugly head in a big way here in Dallas. Every time I turn around, someone else I know has it. I am praying that I can make it through the next week without any of us getting this horrible thing. I am so excited to start sharing some gift ideas that I have for you, and today, I am sharing the gift of beauty with Nordstrom.
Nordstrom is always a go-to for beauty because it’s so easy to pick up everything I need, but it’s also a great place to find gifts for holiday gift-giving. I love giving beauty gifts, especially ones that we might not buy for ourselves. I have to admit that I am one of those, buy one for them and one for me kind of shoppers! Does anyone else do that? I try not to, but I can’t help myself when I see a palette like this beautiful one from Charlotte Tilbury. How beautiful are the colors? I also think this palette from Bobbi Brown is gorgeous too. I have a palette obsession, and one more that is fabulous is this one from Urban Decay.
A few more mini palettes that I love are this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, for multidimensional luminescence to every skin tone, making it appear softer and lit from within. What woman doesn’t want that? This is also a great all-in-one palette for all skin shades, which makes an easy gift for anyone. I also just purchased this beautiful Chanel Illuminating Blush Powder. I love it so much that I bought one for my friend for her birthday. It gives the prettiest color and glow.
Now, for the gift of skincare!
If you follow along with me, you know how much I love Augustinus Bader products. I would love to receive the Rich Cream and the new Face Oil. These are a little on the pricey side, but boy, do they work. Maybe these products are the gifts you give yourself! Augustinus Bader has also just come out with Cleansing Balm that I can’t wait to try. I have truly seen changes in my skin after using these products. If you are into more sustainable products for gift-giving, I really like Odacité products. Time Release Delivery Creme is a great hydrator, and so is this Ac + R Acai-Rose Youthful Glow Facial Serum. I have tried several products from Odacité, but they all sound amazing, and some good enough to eat!
Another brand that I am obsessed with and would highly recommend for gifts or stocking stuffers is Kopari. I started using their deodorants about two years ago and love them. They are vegan, non-toxic, aluminum- and baking soda-free. This is a fun stocking stuffer to try all of them. I know I have mentioned to you all in a previous post that I have dry lips that worsen when I wear certain lipstick brands. This gloss from Kopari is the only thing that heals my dry lips. I use it religiously every night, and now they have a peppermint gloss for the holidays.
Speaking of stocking stuffers, I love Nars blushes, and this little mini duo is perfect for traveling with or keeping in your handbag.
So are these mini lipsticks! These NUDESTIX travel size lip and eye sets are great to stick in stockings, and what female that can get their hair in a ponytail doesn’t love these slip hair ties. And speaking of Slip, I love to give these silk pillowcases along with the hair ties (mentioned above) or eye cream.
If you are looking for something a little more extravagant in the gift of beauty, I would suggest the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. I have had mine for a couple of years and love it. It helps dry my hair a little quicker than other hairdryers and is so quiet. I also splurged on the Dyson Airwrap Complete Styler. I have burned my hair so many times with a curling iron, and this styler helps prevent the burn. It does take a little bit of time to get the hang of it. The BeautyBio GloPRO is another great gift to give for beautiful skin results.
Is beauty just for the girls? Nope! We can gift the guys in our lives a little bit of beauty too. Anything by Jack Black is always good, like this Skin Saviors Set. My husband also likes the Intense Therapy Lip Balm and the Turbo Wash. I love the smell of Le Labo Santal 33, and this duo is a great way to try it. My husband doesn’t have a beard, but my youngest son does, and this looks like a good beard essential set. Although it’s not exactly beauty, I am getting my husband some nicer face masks. He wears the surgical throwaways, and it’s nice to have some that look a little better.
One more idea for the gift of beauty is a nice scent like a beautiful candle or diffuser.
I love Nest candles and diffusers, and this votive set makes a great gift. I haven’t tried the candles from Anecdote, but the wording is so fun on the labels.
Okay, that was a lot of the gift of beauty, but I hope you get some ideas for people you need to buy for or maybe yourself!
I am going to be a crazy person trying to get everything accomplished today before my littles get here this evening. I am so sad that my daughter canceled her trip to come here for Thanksgiving. She is in London and decided not to travel because of the situation with the virus. England is on lockdown until December 4th, and the way things are going here, she is afraid she wouldn’t be able to get back to London if she came. Thank God we have FaceTime!
Have a lovely weekend, and stay safe! xx

Dear Cathy,
I’m afraid praying is not going to keep the Corona Virus away, but cancelling your large dinner party, wearing a mask whenever you go out, washing your hands often, cleaning surfaces, and keeping your distance from people will. I hope you choose to keep safe as I look forward to reading your blog! Remember, this is only temporary, but will continue unless we all buckle down and follow the rules.

Have a wonderful holiday. My daughter not traveling home either and our first time not together for Thanksgiving. Life is an ever changing current but we are not alone. Thank you for reminding me of that!
